July 16th, 2022 - Mission Valley Super Oval
HPR fans got to experience a real show tonight. The Kuwicki Driver Development Program finalist showed class and grit as he battled it out for second place in the 31st Montana 200.
Haeden had qualified first so he took the pole and held the lead for the first 50 laps. There were a few cautions which brought about some exciting restarts. At lap 51 BJ Tidrick pulled ahead.

The top positions remained the same until there was a four car incident that left a very frustrated Alex Lessor walking off the track. After that the officials decided to end the first half early with 116 to go.
At the break:
27 BJ Tidrick
55 Haeden Plybon
90 Trevor Cristiani
43 Daniel Dye
1 Agni Howell
During the break the team changed some tires and re-fueled but did not make any serious adjustments to the car.
The second half was filled with many changes except two: Haeden and BJ remained in their respective positions. Although 23 cars started the Montana 200, only 11 remained to finish. There was a restart where Haeden had the lead for a split second but then a caution occured and BJ reverted to first place.

Haeden mentioned during his post race interview that it would have been tough to take the lead given how even they were. Speaking of the interviews, Plybon and Tidrick showed a mutual respect as they congratulated each other for a clean race.
But it wasn't just the ending that held a bright spot for Haeden. During the morning he had the honor of meeting NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin and even got an autograph on the deck lid.
Up next the team will work diligently preparing for the Summer Shootout at Evergreen Speedway. The Idaho 200 follows the next weekend. It is a busy month of racing!
