April 1st, 2023 - Red Mountain Event Center
HPR has won the 80 lap pro late feature at the Apple Cup for two years in a row.
Haeden started out well by taking the pole and breaking his own record from last year with an 18.596. Actually he broke it on the first lap (18.621) and then broke it again on the second lap for a new track record of 18.596.
He kept the lead the entire race only dropping down to second for two laps.
One of the first people to come up and say hello was Wayne Walden, long time supporter of racing and co-owner of the Red Mountain Event Center. These are some of the fond moments in racing.
Once Haeden took the mic, he thanked his sponsors and first on that list was Toyota of Tri-Cities. We really appreciate how they stepped up for today's race. On to tomorrow!
Lastly, keep on the lookout on May 11th for news from the Kulwicki Driver Development Program on who will be the seven finalists.
